Test Shot Starfish Defines Intelligent Dance Music with Sophomore Album, Music for Space

Test Shot Starfish (TSS) is best known for creating the music that accompanies the SpaceX launches. Their techno is the perfect soundtrack for space missions as it takes us on a sonic exploration. In honor of World Space Week, the duo just launched their sophomore album, Music for Space, via Subtractive on all digital platforms. This album celebrates the entrepreneurs, engineers, and designers, the true rockstars of today.

Test Shot Starfish bring us, The Thinking Man’s Techno.

Test Shot Starfish Music for Space

While listening to Music for Space, do as TSS intended for you to do- think. Think about the possibilities of all the universes. Ponder and discuss questions such as: “What is your purpose in this world? How many universes are there? How many dimensions are there? Is there another me out there? Just let your mind explore creative ideas, meditate or fall into your flow state.

Music for Space is a 14-track odyssey built of hypnotic synth notes with glitched out melodies supported by minimal techno beats. TSS creates a sophisticated sound of their own that brings a healthy music history into the future of space exploration and travel. As a bonus, you can find the first track ‘Fight-Proven’ as a free download.

To help finish the album, TSS invited the Grammy Award-winning electronic music producer Robert Margouleff into the studio.

Bob is most noted for his revolutionary work programming for Stevie Wonder while recording award-winning albums including Music of My MindTalking BookInnervisions and Fulfillingness’ First Finale. In addition to a massive all-star credit list, Bob formed an all electronica band called “Tonto’s Expanding Head Band” in the early 70’s, pioneering the use of the synthesizer in modern music.

Since meeting in 1999 in LA at a movie audition, Kyle Schember and Ryan Stuit have experienced an encouraging amount of success with TSS as their song “Resonator” has attracted over 450,000 plays on SoundCloud. They also have scored the official Coachella documentary and been featured in the “We Speak Dance” reality series on Netflix. To accompany their first EP they went on a tour with an elaborate multimedia live performance that included original compositions, video projection, lighting, and lasers. We hope they do something even more advanced with this album…

Stay tuned because Margouleff and collaborator Zeus are currently mixing TSS for immersive headphone surround. Also, after the digital release of Music for Space, TSS will also release a vinyl set that will be mixed and mastered in ambisonic surround for superior headphone listening.
