Christmas day was very rewarding for many music lovers around the world as Sonny Moore, known more famously for his moniker Skrillex, released a remix of his own hit single “Stranger.”
Those of you who stay up to date with Skrillex’s massive number of releases all over the electronic music platform will recognize the track “Stranger.”
This remix however, is unlike anything the masses have heard from the normal heavy hitting, bass pushing, energetic dubstep and hybrid tracks that he is known for. “Stranger”, featuring Tennyson & White Sea, is filled with unique vocal editing, soft but ear-catching leads and synths, and beautiful piano chords that fill out the rest of the track.
Skrillex and his collaborators create a very powerful track filled with emotion by using Tennyson’s vocals to set the mood, while ‘choir orchestrated’ vocals are also displayed throughout the hook. If this remix wasn’t already enough, Skrillex published this track for donation to benefit three separate charities with 100% of the proceeds to be split between organizations serving children and youth: The Boys & Girls Clubs of America, Bridges for Music, and Jhamtse Gatsal Children’s Community.
Sonny has continued to be an active advocate for all three organizations.
