In a harmonious union of creativity, Insomniac, a leading conductor of music festivals and record releases, joined forces with Emo Nite, the pied piper of emo, pop-punk, and alternative aficionados across 50+ cityscapes. This unholy alliance birthed a treasure trove of exclusive projects, spanning the realms of pulsating events, soul-stirring tunes, and fashion statements.
Together they conceived GRAVE RAVE, an event series that will descend upon the sprawling streets of Los Angeles in December. Legendary and burgeoning bands and DJs will collide in a heartfelt collision of electronic symphonies and the raw, emotional cadences of emo, pop-punk, and rock genres. The chaos commenced with the sold out ‘Road to GRAVE RAVE’ preview soirée on the scorching night of August 26th at Insomniac’s Academy LA venue.
Coming into the night with a surprise DJ lineup, ‘Road to GRAVE RAVE’ brought hit producers, Kayzo, Ghastly, SABER and Whyel who electrified the club night with electronic and emo remixes and reimagined classics. The dance floor packed with like-minded emos filled everyone with the heartfelt energy we crave to the grave. This has been event we have been missing and we are so glad it has arrived. Viva la emo!
“I’m really excited about our creative partnership with Emo Nite and its like-minded Founders, T.J. and Morgan. Emo Nite has been on my radar for many years and I love how it has such a positive community supporting it. I first noticed the synergies between our two scenes during our Rave-a-thon streams when artists from the rave scene played EDM remixes of EMO tracks. Viewers online and working Insomniacs were buzzing about it and I knew then it was the perfect fit,” says Pasquale Rotella, Founder and CEO of Insomniac.
“When the Emo Nite guys performed at EDC and pulled a massive crowd, it confirmed everything for us Insomniacs. T.J. and Morgan are amazing individuals who embody the same spirit that drives Insomniac. Their passion for music, as well as their commitment to their community, is a perfect match. I’m looking forward to the future and the exciting journey that lies ahead!”
“While the genres of music we each specialize in are very different, we share the same values at the core of our companies,” said T.J Petracca and Morgan Freed, Emo Nite Founders. “Witnessing the passion and creativity Insomniac puts into their festivals and events inspires us to dream bigger. We’re beyond excited to work with them and to learn from them as we take these next steps on this journey to make our big dreams a reality.”
Emo Nite and Insomniac Music Group have joined forces to launch Graveboy Records, a haven for upcoming emotion dance music singles, starting with releases by We The Kings, Say Anything, and Noelle Sucks. While the “Insomniac x Emo Nite” collaborative merchandise collection, made its debut at HARD Summer 2023.
“Before You Liked EDM, You Liked EMO.”
Emo Nite was started by Morgan Freed and T.J. Petracca in 2014 at a dive bar in Echo Park and quickly caught fire as they pulled in Machine Gun Kelly, Post Malone, Good Charlotte, Demi Lovato and more. You can keep up with their vibes by listening to Emo Nite Radio on Amazon AMP and catching them at their residency at Resorts World Las Vegas’ Zouk Nightclub.
