Lightning in a Bottle 2020, North America’s premier independent music and arts festival, revealed the lineup today for its return to Buena Vista Lake in Southern California for the second year – this time over Memorial Day Weekend, May 20-25.
Lightning in a Bottle stands as a destination for musical artists looking to perform within creative stage environments in front of one of the scene’s most engaged and dedicated crowds. The 2020 LIB lineup continues this ethos by including an eclectic pluralism of acts that extend across the live and electronic spectrums.

The event’s flagship Lightning Stage will once again play host to a finely tuned roster of live and electronic behemoths. The stage will feature performances from renowned urban beatsmith, Kaytranada, indie-pop sweethearts Sylvan Esso and Purity Ring, and electro-funk maverick GRiZ, innovative dance music icon Four Tet, the sweeping soundscapes of Big Wild, genre-blenders Jon Hopkins and Emancipator, and more.

The coveted house and techno haven of the Woogie will continue its legacy of bringing the world’s premier party-starters together under its kaleidoscopic shade structures. 2020 Woogie selectors include global mogul Nina Kraviz, a unique Bob Moses club set, German techno wizard Stephan Bodzin, Dirtybird favorites Justin Martin and Justin Jay, Ukranian duo ARTBAT, South African 4/4 legend Kyle Watson, and Crew Love captains Soul Clap, plus plenty more.
The Thunder Stage will stay true to its bass heavy nature as it recognizes a mix of some of the genre’s brightest stars and of the moment talents. James Blake will perform a special DJ set, unique Brazilian sound engineer Amon Tobin will be presenting his Two Fingers project, and verteran neurofunk trio Noisia will make LIB a premiere stop on their final tour. The stage will also feature notorious turntablist DJ Shadow, a DJ set from scene leaders Keys N Krates, LIB favorites and audiovisual mavericks The Funk Hunters, future- bass wizards DROELOE, and West Coast beat luminary EPROM.

Attendees have the opportunity to kick things off a day ahead of the crowds by purchasing a 5-Day Festival Pass that allows for festival entry on Wednesday to beat the Thursday traffic. These early-arrival privileges come with exclusive access to the seven-hour lakeside welcome party, sound-tracked by west-coast house and techno brigade Desert Hearts crew members Mikey Lion, Lee Reynolds, Marbs, and Porky.
