Lee Burridge and Lost Desert Release Transcendental New Album ‘Melt’

Lee Burridge, global house music icon who began DJing almost 40 years ago, has teamed up with production wizard Lost Desert to reach a new milestone in his career. Despite being one of the most well known names in electronic music around the world, Lee has never released an album of his own- until now: Melt by Lee Burridge and Lost Desert.

Melt is Burridge’s first complete body of work and follows an impressive decades-spanning career that’s headlined by running the uber-successful All Day I Dream label and its accompanying parties. The collaborative album, released on ADID, embodies the melodic, delicate sounds supported by the label since the brand’s inception.

Melt fuses Burridge’s history of entrancing dancefloors around the world with the extensive production knowledge from Lost Desert. Burridge spent the last 20 years developing dance communities all over the globe, from establishing the scene in Hong Kong to developing Thailand’s Full Moon parties to playing alongside Craig Richards and Sasha in the UK, and that experience shines through on Melt.

Supported by intricate, layered, melodies and understated grooves, the 10-track LP captures the feel of Burridge’s enamored All Day I Dream parties.

The album aims to take its listeners on an emotive journey through the ethos of its authors and is the perfect soundtrack to a peaceful summer afternoon. A couple highlights for us include those always fun water droplet samples featured in ‘Seven Magic Mountains’ and the pleasant synchronicity of technology and tribal culture that is present throughout the album by melting electronic beats with tribal elements, especially for ‘Lingala’.

The duo have released tracks together in the past, including “Ligala” in 2016, which features vocalist Junior and was revamped for Melt. In the making of the record, Burridge and Lost Desert have drawn upon feelings of love and connection that they’ve experienced in their lives:

“Melt hopes to create a connection. With it. With others. We both feel that musical music evokes a special kind of magic that instills itself deep in your soul. If you truly connect with it, it stays with you forever. It marks a moment or moments that you shared with it and with others on your journey through life. This was one of our motivations when we wrote each track and the album as a full storytelling experience.”  – Lee Burridge

All Day I Dream parties began on a Brooklyn rooftop in 2011 and have since become an international sensation. Hundreds of thousands have been drawn in, captivated by the environment that unfolds within ADID’s carefully curated spaces and sounds. Whether it has been on the beaches of Mykonos, the cliff tops of Ibiza, or amongst the urban backdrop of one’s hometown, there’s no denying the ever-present magic and feelings of belonging at an ADID party.
