K+Lab Releases Bumpin’ Video For Latest Release [Video Review]

For all you glitch-hop, electro-soul fans out there we’ve got another artist you are going to love. Hailing from Auckland, New Zealand, K+Lab, is another member of the funkafied family of Westwood Recordings.

He fits right in with his skull-shattering basslines and party-poppin’ beats that are inspired by his love of hip-hop and funk.

K+Lab‘s debut album “Spacedirt” topped the Beatport charts and was nominated for “Album of the Year” at the UK Glitch Hop awards and “Electronic Album of the Year” at the NZ Music Awards. The bass-bringin’, keytar-wieldin’ kiwi has established himself as an in demand live act with high energy performances that feature reworked versions of his own productions and eclectic samples that range from jazz and soul to breakbeat and DnB.

He latest EP, Pop Sick III, is another stunner as it showcases his promise and power as a producer. To go along with his new release K+Lab also self-produced an epic video for the track “Yes Please”. The music video bounces from one scene to the next with clips of K+Lab playing drums in an elephant get up and striking notes on his keytar.

Stimulating graphics are layered throughout the video, filling in the background and accenting the movements of the various characters that are present.

The strong, soaring bassline carries the momentum with Tali‘s vocals falling perfectly between the booming low-end and driving drums. Both compositions are rounded off with precise piano riffs and spacey percussive elements that are brought to life with exciting visuals and effects. Both the video and song exhibit K+Lab‘s extreme attention to detail with every facet being carefully constructed to work in harmony with one another.
