Hotboxx Shares Big Plans, New Releases and Goals for 2023

2023 is here and we’d like to know what are your hopes for this year regarding your music career?

My hopes for 2023 are to push my music career to the next level as far as bookings, a radio show and release at least 1-2 tracks or EP’s every month. I really want to be consistent this year and keep constant content coming out to show the work I have been putting in. For this upcoming year, these would be my goals. Hopes is a little different because those are dreams, I hope to push my goals to the achieve my “hopes” or “dreams” which really are to make music my life, to know that I will have the life I want to live and do it through music, this would be my true “hope” or “dream”.  But I plan to get there by achieving my goals this year.

What are your top 3 resolutions for this new year?

Musically, my top 3 resolutions are to establish my radio show and bring on at least 6 well known guests. Release a minimum of 15 tracks. Have a minimum of 50 bookings for the year with at least 5 being international.

Do you have any releases in the pipelines for the upcoming months?

Yes, I have a few releases on the way.  I will be doing a free release early February. A Remix of a Bad Bunny and Arcangel track. The track is a collaboration that I produced with my very good friend, Flynn Nolan.

I also have a solo release titled “All Love” that will be coming out in March on Play Records, looking forward to that. Also, I have a release with my good friends Vampire Sex coming out on Tech Ave. in April.  Lastly, still unsure on the release date but sometime early 2023 I will have “Flavor” being released on Younan records, this is a collaboration between myself and the talented Bonilla. Those tracks are what we have currently scheduled.  I do have many more unreleased tracks that will coming out in 2023 for sure.

If you could pick any event, any stage, any place: where would you like to perform in 2023?

That is tough. I would definitely love to play in Ibiza, that’s definitely on my bucket list.  I will say a specific venue I definitely want to cross of my bucket list would be Club Space, Miami.  I am born and raised in Miami, so this has been an iconic venue for me basically my entire life and that would definitely be a dream come true, playing as the sun rises is definitely something I would love to do, as well.

And following on from that, if the world was your oyster for selection, who would you like to collaborate with this new year?

Very tough question, if I had to choose it would probably be Mochakk or Dennis Cruz. Both are just artists that I really look up to, really feel like Mochakk has pushed his production to another level in 2022 and Dennis has been one of my favorite producers for some time now, really love his style.

Are there any new hobbies or activities you’d like to try in 2023?

I just want to continue my current hobbies and activities.  Aside from the music which I dedicate a lot of my time towards; I also golf, own an insurance agency, go boating, fishing, diving a lot and am really into a lot of sports. So don’t know if there is really anything new, I can dedicate time towards, at least not this year as I want to push my current projects as hard as possible.

Are there any new skills or new gear that you’d like to implement to your studio in 2023?

I would definitely love to add a voice box, I have been doing a lot of original vocals lately so I would love to have that extra boost in the studio.  I definitely want to keep pushing my skills, through tutorials, etc.  There is always something new to learn every time I sit down to produce a track, that’s why I enjoy doing it so much, always a new challenge.

From a production standpoint, what would you say is the number one area you would like/need to invest time into in order to develop your production level?

I would really like to focus when I sit down and try to develop a more “signature” sound so when people hear a track, they can tell it’s my track. I think I struggle with that some times and I make a lot of different style tracks, which isn’t necessarily bad but would really like to have a style that I master.

Any new genres you’d like to explore next year?

I’m kind of all over the place with production but I think moving forward you’ll hear more of a Latin, Tech House type vibe to my tracks.  It’s really something I want to focus on.

New sub-genres come and go into fashion every year, what are your predictions for 2023?

I think that commercial Tech style, like Fisher, John Summitt, James Hype, etc., is really going to be the type of music that will be very popular for this year and probably a few more. These artists will be the headliners at festivals I think, which is definitely something I am not opposed to, I think there is a lot of producers making a lot of great tracks that are in that style.

Besides yourself, which artists or labels should people follow this year?

I work a ton with a label down here called House Of Huemans.  They have a ton of really talented producers that are on the rise and I think there label is going to make huge strides in the next year.  As far as artists, here in Miami there are a few local producers I collaborate with and I really think they will also be pushing things to another level this year; Flynn Nolan, Vampire Sex, Chillin’ Williams, Bonilla are just a few I can think of, follow House of Huemans and I think you’ll find a lot more.

Make a prediction for 2023 about the world or music and we’ll try and catch you this time next year to see if it came true!

By end of 2023, Electronic music festivals will bring more revenue in comparison with other music genres and their concerts.

Do you have a message for your followers for new year?

It will be an interesting ride but definitely keep up with what I am doing because I really think you’ll like the results.
