Los Angeles-based producer, Hex Cougar, updated the Eurythmics 80’s classic – “Sweet Dreams” – and it’s a track that immediately sticks with you upon first listen.
Featuring Holly Henry on vocals, Hex Cougar’s “Sweet Dreams” is a total departure from the original recording.
With spaced out harp-like tones leading the track early on, Henry’s vocals come in atop calming piano chords as synths build to a crescendo in the background.
“Sweet Dreams” picks up steam until the pivotal moment, the delivery, where the song turns into a monster of a dance party as warped synths wrap and engulf the listener.
Silky and animated, “Sweet Dreams” grabs one by the heartstrings and won’t let go. Chilling on the couch, jamming in the car, weaving down the sidewalk – it doesn’t matter where you listen to this track, it will get you moving.
