European Music Festivals You Don’t Want to Miss in 2020

No matter what genre of music you may be into, music festivals never seem to disappoint. There is one for everyone. Europe never lets you down when it comes to music festivals, which is why we prepared 5 excellent ideas for you to explore. There is no particular order because we think they are all equally fun. All that is left for you to do is to make a choice. It will be difficult, but surely you can decide.

Rock am Ring & Rock Im Park

In case rock and metal are what pushes your buttons, then a trip to Germany this summer will surely be worth it. The festivals start on June 5th and end on June 7th. They will take place in Mendig and Nürnberg, Germany. The sister festivals are some of the most attended events in the world, and the lineups are insane each year. The atmosphere is always crazy fun. Since the event is pretty close, you may want to start looking for tickets. You will be able to enjoy System of a Down, Deftones, Green Day, Korn, Billy Talent, Weezer, and Broilers. So get your tickets now.

Ultra Europe

The Ultra Europe Festival is all about fun in all its forms. For one thing, I don’t know if you have ever been to Split, Croatia, but the place is fantastic. Ultra Europe takes place in July. It starts on the 10th and ends on the 12th. You know what that means, right? Beach fun by day, and the best DJs by night. You get to hear David Guetta, Afrojack, Armin van Buuren, Pendulum – TRINITY, Steve Aoki, Richie Hawtin, Marshmello, and DJ Snake. Basically, the biggest DJs in the world will gather in Croatia for Ultra Europe, and you cannot miss it. The Adriatic coast will then be forever embedded in your mind as the place where you can never sleep.

Sziget Festival

Not only is Budapest an incredible city, but the Sziget Festival always makes it look even better. Truth be told, there is little to no marketing for this particular festival, and the tickets still get sold out every single year? Why? It’s easy to tell. The atmosphere is crazy fun, and the lineup is worth a trip all the way to Hungary. If you choose to attend the Sziget Festival, you’ll get to hear Dua Lipa, Calvin Harris, The Strokes, Major Lazer, Kings of Leon, Stormzy, and A$AP Rocky.

As mentioned above, the Sziget Festival takes place in Hungary’s capital city, Budapest. It starts on the 5th of August and ends on the 11th. Prepare yourself for an entire week of fun, nice people, and good beer.

Tomorrowland

We cannot talk about European music festivals without bringing up Tomorrowland. It takes place in Boom, Belgium, and it lasts a whole 10 days. Don’t expect to do much sleep during that time, so you better get ready for that. After all, you cannot sleep through what we all agree to be the biggest electronic show in the world, can you?

The lineup is always impressive, and 2020 is no different. You will witness the magic of Martin Garrix, David Guetta, Marshmello, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, Amelie Lens, Eric Prydz, Adam Beyer, and NERVO.

Glastonbury

Just as we cannot talk about European music festivals and not bring up Tomorrowland, we cannot overlook Glastonbury. It always brings some of the biggest names in the music industry. This year, we expect to see Sir Paul McCartney, Lana Del Rey, Taylor Swift, Diana Ross, and there are still many to be announced. So tune in as often as possible to see what Glastonbury has in store for you for 2020.

This year, the festival will take place on 24-28 of June in Pilton, United Kingdom. The Pyramid Stage is already legendary, so we don’t have to sell that to you at all. Besides, the organizers always have surprises in store. All you have to do is attend and discover them all.

While preparing for a mountain of fun, it is worth mentioning that traveling to Europe may require a visa. If you are exempt, all you need is a passport. However, if you are not, you must obtain a visa in advance. Fortunately, all countries above are accessible with a Schengen visa. Even if the United Kingdom got out of the EU, old immigration rules still apply until the end of 2020, so you’re good to go. It is not difficult to acquire a Schengen visa, and the application can be submitted online. Other than that, have fun.
