The Forest Family has reason to rejoice today. After concerns that Electric Forest would no longer have a home in The Sherwood Forest, festival promoters AEG Live and The Double JJ Ranch have agreed on a deal that will keep the Insomniac Events production in Rothbury for at least 10 more years.
After a lengthy legal battle between current property owners and former stakeholders over a debt dispute, a judge has granted exclusive ownership to Antler Bar Amusements LLC.
On Tuesday, Norm Halbower, member of the current ownership group confirmed the 10-year deal.
I can assure you that there will be a festival next year. Part of my reasoning is they have had representatives going through our forest checking trees and doing preliminary stuff like they do every year.
Halbower continued:
I’m 72 years old and I attended the festival this year. It was such a pleasant experience. I met educated people from all walks of life, including architects and brilliant minds of stage and theater. The show the festival puts on is a sight to see.
There you have it Forest Fam. See you next year in Rothbury.
