After pondering topics for our next article, we thought and thought, pressed and pondered, and came up with something a little unorthodox – but we love it just the same.
As a music publication we constantly talk about new tracks, artists, festival lineups, and everything else under almighty musical sun. We give advice for what to bring to festivals, what artists you need to know about, and what shows are shaping up to be the biggest barn burners around. We talk about labels and genres, and the past, present, and future of electronic music.
But there’s one thing that gets left out on occasion, and that’s you. The fans who make the whole scene spin.
So this one’s for you and you alone:
Here’s to you, you road-rambling, rubber-tramping, music-loving vagabonds of the world.
You hop in cars to never-before-seen destinations, bringing with old friends and new faces alike for the time of a lifetime.
You have no qualms about spending what’s left of your paycheck for that extra concert ticket, going out there with nothing in your pocket because you don’t need anything besides the experience.
You will always make the show.
You support art with a love and devotion that, for most, is reserved for close family. Listening, dancing, sharing, and enjoying – that’s what music is to you.
You set listening trends and show the world that this generation does have a purpose.
Living, loving, and being. That’s the goal.
Not the standard life that other generations have expected from us, or even wanted to see from us. But you know that doesn’t matter. You strive to find your meaning in life, seeking out answers to incomprehensible questions, because deep down, you know that the answers are somewhere within yourself.
You are the reason that music exists as it does today. You live and breathe it, support and share it.
You share smiles and exchange hugs over handshakes, all without question.
You add that extra bit of glow to the dark corners of a shabby room. You play guitar and spin poi yet you also draw, paint, write, and read. You aren’t afraid to ask what’s on your mind and you aren’t satisfied with the status quo.
You know that music change the world and you know that in your heart you truly want it to. You help it along through the creation and assimilation of music and dance into everyday life. You help remind the world not to take itself too seriously. In short, you are the the free-wheelin’, free-lovin’ heart of the world. And don’t you dare forget it.
Thank you for contributing to these experiences that we value above all else.
You are what keep us coming back.
