The South By Southwest (SXSW) Music Showcase kicked off Tuesday, March 17 and with it came the most influential companies, hottest artists, and most prestigious record labels in all of electronic dance music.
Among the slew of EDM events offered during SXSW, The Spotify House hit the midway point of their 6-day celebration with performances from SoulCycle b2b Gorgon City, Verite, BORNS, Ryn Weaver, and Gorgon City before Seattle-based duo Odesza took the stage for their headlining performance that had the popup music venue rocking in the heart of downtown Austin.
Fresh off their performance at the Buku Music & Art Project, there was no shortage of energy as Odesza poured their hearts into the hour-long set.
Appreciative of the opportunity provided by Spotify and the warm reception of the crowd, Odesza expressed their gratitude before putting on a monumental show that was the perfect opening to a week of musical celebrations.
As they took the stage, band member Harrison Mills admitted that they were nervous at the onset of their first of many SXSW performances.
Nonetheless, these nerves quickly subsided. With nearly half the crowd rocking free hats provided by The Truth Movement and complimentary drinks keeping attendees in good spirits, the vibe was right as Odesza delivered a spectacle that affirmed why they are one of the hottest names in electronic music at the moment.
