Our friend from Jacksonville, WonkyWilla is here to transforms your Thanksgiving with the release of “Wonksgiving,” a three-course sonic journey dropping on Wubaholics. Lets be grateful that someone like Disco Lines could mix in these bass drops on the world’s mainstage productions. In WonkyWilla’s own words:
“We really wanted to do something special for my debut EP, and this merch drop with Elev808 definitely feels special, especially because we’re donating to Feeding America. Everything about the ‘Wonksgiving’ EP, from the music to the cover art to the merch, feels so on point with where I want this project to go, and I’m so glad the WonkyWilla project gets to end the year on such a high note!”
Track 1: ‘Drop’ — An experimental bass track featuring a minimal, subdued sound design. The composition introduces WonkyWilla’s musical approach with a restrained electronic arrangement.
Track 2: ‘Scream From Venus’ — A high-energy dubstep track characterized by aggressive sound design. The track features intense synthesizer elements, pronounced percussion, and a dense sonic landscape typical of contemporary dubstep production.
Track 3: ‘Make It Hot’ — A lighter electronic track with melodic elements. The composition follows a more accessible dubstep structure, drawing comparisons to contemporary producers like Levity, Tape B, and Ahee.
To celebrate, WonkyWIlla is partnering with Elev808 to release a charity-driven merch drop featuring Wonksgiving Hockey Jerseys and Pashminas. 50% of profits from merch sales will be donated to Feeding America to help hungry families enjoy a proper Thanksgiving dinner this year.
Beyond “Wonksgiving,” WonkyWilla has been cooking up an impressive musical feast all year. With over 4 million Spotify streams, an official remix for Ahee, and a sold-out tour supporting artists like Smoakland and SoDown, this project is serving up something truly special. His next stop, Fargo, North Dakota!
