Pretty Lights
Derek Vincent Smith. The man known as Pretty Lights hardly needs an introduction. I credit this master craftsman as the catalyst to my love of electronic music and he as only continued to draw me in.
Anyone who truly appreciates music can appreciate the work that he continues to do, especially with his most recent EP A Color Map of the Sun. Smith spent countless hours in the studio individually recording, literally, every. single. sound. that you hear on the album. Each instrumental component was plucked, twanged, reverberated, and everything in between, by the man himself.
As if the production value of his individual shows was not enough, it was recently announced that he will bringing his live band with him to perform at CounterPoint in a set that could very well go down in PL history.
If you have not seen Pretty Lights before, prepare to have your mind absolutely blown.
