STS9
Despite bassist David Murphy leaving the band a few months ago, there is no doubt that Sound Tribe Sector 9 will still throw down. One of the best live instrumental sets I have ever seen, STS9 simply brings it.
Each show brings something unique to the atmosphere, crowd, and mood as the group delves deep into their extensive discography to pull together varying influences of jam, funk, rock, and jazz. Layer on the aesthic elements and the show begins to come to life.
To put it in perspective, take in to account that the Federal Aviation Administration had to redirect flights over Live Oak, Florida during their set at Suwanee’s Hulaween because the lights were so intense that they would have interfered with navigation.
Hard to find a better all-around multimedia production than an STS9 show.
