BBC 1 – Essential Mix
Having launched in 1993, the “Essential Mix’ is one of the longest running weekly radio shows that exists within the electronic dance music community. Host Pete Tong has established himself as an icon, having been around since the very first show over 20 years ago. With such a longstanding reputation and live broadcasts from Ibiza, New York City, London, the BBC 1 Essential Mix is largely credited with the mass popularization of electronic dance music and is still holding strong, pumping out tunes to this day.
