Its hard to say exactly when dance music started. In fact, we can go all the way back to the disco era if we truly wanted to.

We can, however go back to the first time that house music made the news: 1986.

The news anchor stated:

“So-called house music was first made in the creators houses, but it was also performed in clubs called the Warehouse and Powerhouse. However it got it’s name, it’s now one of the hottest things going. It may only be a matter of time before house musicians becomes heroes in their own home”.

Now almost 30 years later, who would have thought that house music would become one of the biggest global music phenomenons? Looking back, this video shows the lifestyle of the early club-goers who would go out to dance in these early ‘underground nightclubs’.

One can distinctly hear the old school beats and melodies of early house music, and it’s incredible to see how far the genre has come after all these years.

Where will it take us next?
