All is fair in love and brostep, even dropping your much anticipated album in the early hours of the morning when EDM fans are drifting off to dreams of lasers and thumping bass. As the sun began to set, the Grammy Award winning producer began leaking singles off his upcoming EP one by one.
It looks as if Skrillex got a little excited on the heels of his Mothership Tour announcement and decided to turn the day into Christmas for Skrillex superfans. After weeks of speculation Redditors discovered secret links through the Alien Ride application containing 11 unnamed tracks that began unlocking every thirty minutes until the album was released in its’ entirety.
The compilation features fellow OWSLA family members Kill The Noise, Alvin Risk, and Milo & Otis and others such as Diplo repping Mad Decent and Chance the Rapper. Be sure to check it out below.
Initially slated for release March 18 on OWSLA/Big Beat/Atlantic Records, Recess is now streaming through iTunes ‘First Play’ as well as Skrillex’ Alien Ride app.
