Los Angeles’ thriving dance music scene is truly pulled together by Clinic Wednesdays ability to bring in top-notch acts for a spectacular hump day. On January 25th, to celebrate Clinic’s 9-year Anniversary, Monkey Safari from Halle, Germany graced the stage with their deep archive that ranged from melodic house to minimal techno, showcasing their worldly travels and unwavering authenticity.
Behind this Clinic Wednesdays session was Underrated Presents and Minimal Effort LA, two collectives that been working together to offer a selection of dance music that is craved around the world. Keep an eye on their events as revered artists such as Sébastien Léger, Christian Löffler and Ben Klock on the horizon.
On this Wednesday night, the brotherly duo Sven Fröhlich and Lars Rühlemann played to a packed house and treated us to their glorious hit, ‘Safe’ to end the night proper.
Monkey Safari made their rise to stardom performing at festivals such as Awakening, Time Warp and Ultra and with the support of artists such as Richie Hawtin, Kölsch, Guy Gerber and Josh Wick.
Yet it was their timeless, ‘Hi Life’ (cheeky bold cover), released 10 years ago that initially garnered our attention and remix treatment from Ole Biege.
One of Monkey Safari’s more well-received works was their album, Odessey, that featured reworks by the master himself, Carl Cox as well as international stars Hernan Cattaneo and Guy J.
Recently Monkey Safari has landed on Anjunadeep, premiered on When We Dip and House Music With Love and laid down a DJ set on Rüfüs Du Sol‘s label, Rose Avenue. In the coming weeks Monkey Safari will be back in Europe, performing in Spain, Germany and Italy, while their next album, I.II, is set to be released on June,21 2023.
