Global Dance Festival Colorado blossomed at Red Rocks in 2017, to take shape as an immersive festival at Empower Field at Mile High, while this year Global celebrated 21-years with a new adventure at the the Stockyards Event Center Grounds, an expanded experience including multiple stages with state-of-the-art production, carnival rides, food trucks, a VIP village and much more was unveiled to the delight of festival-goers.
We dove in, got both feet wet, met new friends, enjoyed the meet-and-greet with Champaign Drip and captured moments at the core of global dance music woven by an undeniable lineup. This year, earning the top headlining slots were The Chainsmokers, Gryffin, Duke Dumont, Kaytranada, Said The Sky and Fisher while all hours were packed with a vibe until 1am and after parties that kept the party going for two-days.
Before taking the tour, lets hear from a new friend, Denver local Producer and DJ, C RAD, people may be more familiar with his main project WEON and discover the festival’s talent. Conrad shared, “I had a blast playing the Oasis stage with my brother, Miko!
“Looking back on it now, I remember how awesome it was to see the crowd’s reaction to tracks that I really enjoy playing. I had never even been to a festival before so this was an all new experience for me. I loved the giant rotating disco ball shooting out fire, the yoshi totem, and seeing our friends showing up for us throughout the set. On Day 2, I was super excited to see Rico Aramis play his set. He is a freakin’ rockstar but is so humble you wouldn’t even know it. And I can’t forget Kareem Martin…his energy was unmatched!
When I get behind the decks, I just like to have fun with it and play tracks that get me moving. I was definitely nervous until I got on stage and plugged in. I am a huge Blond:ish fan, so you know I had to play ‘ TRA TRA’ and the crowd loved it. Shout out to Lance for giving us the opportunity and for all of the hard work that he put into the festival.”
Leading up to the festival a couple Denver favorite’s offered a guest mix, listen to Lizzy Jane and Brondo in the mix while you enjoy our exclusive photo tour with K.Daniel.Photography and NYMITY, plus plug into TWINSICK’s set that is available online now, you are going to want to hear their remix of Cherub’s ‘Doses & Mimosas’ and pick it up as a free download.
