Factory 93 and Day Trip‘s Skyline LA kicked off festival season by setting the bar high with house and techno music’s finest at Expo Park. The festival could not have started more monumentally as the gates opened thunder struck and as artists hit the decks offering a smooth and deep, yet tech selection on the east side stage. Layla Benitez was a vibe and treat to catch her for the first time as she is buoying to the top.

Following over at the ambitious West Stage London’s, Eli & Fur’s banging set led into a peak time B2B from two men who has introduced many people to the world of underground house music, Dennis Ferrer and Skream.

Then there was something magical about MEDUZA‘s set as he wrapped in main stage, melodic dance music vocals into a punchy house set as Michael Bibi was taking charge over on the East Side.

It was a constant dance between each stage making an effort to catch all acts, especially the closing hour with Dom Dolla and Peggy Lou touching at the same time and frankly it was better because it rained, dancing and mingling under an umbrella is fun, plus the glitter lights falling from the sky.

Day two, the sun was shinning and there wasn’t a care in the world, not even Monday.  The East Stage ran techno from opening sets from Shimity, SHOMI and Stella Bossi into a royal Ellen Allien B2B Sara Landry to everyone’s favorites Joseph Carpriati and Charolette De Witte to close it out with possibly the most piercing energy of the whole weekend.

While techno on Sundays is as right as rain, there was no passing up the artists throwing down on the West Stage, especially Solarado B2B Shiba San into Diplo.  Diplo entered gnarly waters with how deep in tech Solarado and Shiba were getting, so watching him jump into his set, showing off his tech prowess was a highlight of the weekend.  Prior J.Worra B2B Maine blasted off with an appreciatively heavy set.

Throughout the festival there was plenty of shenanigans on the dance floor, conscious totem holders, expresso martinis and not a bad vibe in sight.
