EDM juggernaut ILLENIUM is poised to make history on June 17 when he descends on Empower Field at Mile High in Denver. Not only is it the largest EDM event to take place in Colorado history, it will also boast the biggest deployment of LED panels in Colorado, ever.
The Grammy Award-nominated, Denver-based DJ—who is the first local EDM act to headline Empower Field—will perform three unique sets throughout the evening, adhering to his Trilogy: Colorado concept. Production will include lasers, pyro, flames and more, giving the aesthetics a hardcore “metal” feel. Coupled with surprise guest performances, the unprecedented show is the ideal vehicle to promote ILLENIUM’s new self-titled album, which was released via Warner Records in April.
ILLENIUM’s latest tour kicked off on May 27 and will hit 27 dates across North America. “The show creates the baseline world that my music lives in,” he told Billboard. “If you watch it five times, you’ll notice new things each time and will see how deep it is.”
Aside from two festivals included in the tour—Electric Forest in Michigan and Veld Music Festival in Ontario—nearly half of its domestic dates are at outdoor venues, a very deliberate choice.
“Amphitheaters usually fit our big goals and dreams; we have a lot of custom pieces that require a large stage,” ILLENIUM’s manager Sean Flynn added.“ Whereas a lot of the time when we come up with some crazy production that fits some huge stage and we have to work around a smaller stage, amphitheaters already fit what we want to do.”
After wrapping up the North American leg of the tour on August 4 at the Veld Music Festival in Toronto, ILLENIUM heads to Europe in October before winding up in Australia in December to close out the year. Support acts include All Time Low, Annika Wells, Blanke, Fairlane, Imanu, KREAM, Said The Sky, I Prevail, Svdden Death, Sullivan King, Whethan and William Black on select dates.
