The second edition of Miami’s III Points Festival returns to the Wynwood District in Miami, Florida this weekend from Friday, October 10 through Sunday, October 12.
For three days the forward thinking music, art, and technology festival will feature 70 performances at more than 40 locations downtown, including one massive warehouse where the majority of the fun will occur. The interactive setting will feature both local and internationally known talent. After drawing 4,500 attendees in the first year III Points looks to up the ante in year two with intriguing names like Chet Faker, Lykke Li, Kaytranada, Flying Lotus, Bob Moses, Duke Dumont, and Jamie Jones.
Not your typical electronic dance music festival, III Points won’t be coming at you with those big room sounds you might associate with the Miami scene.
Instead, the meticulously curated lineup will feature performances for those with a more ‘finely tuned’ dance music palate.
After a few organizational mishaps last year (as can be expected with any first year event), III Points organizer Dave Sinpoli spoke with the Miami New Times regarding how he plans to amend those issues in year two.
I like how raw it was last year, how grassroots and how organic it felt, because it really was. We’re going to try to really keep that feeling, but take the talent to another level. We’re taking the ideas, and the concepts, and the art a little more serious. With more preparation and more thought, we’ll be able to deliver them in a way that has a bigger impact on what we’re doing.
With so much culture in a city that is a hotbed of musical creativity we wouldn’t be surprised if III Points follows in the footsteps of Moogfest and SXSW.
