Bass connoisseur Lorin Ashton, better known by his speaker thumping alias Bassnectar, has released his long anticipated EP Noise Versus Beauty after giving fans a sneak preview through his festival stops at EDC New York, Wakarusa, and EDC Las Vegas.
Speaking to the title of the album, Bassnectar told Rolling Stone:
It’s almost like if music is the message, noise is the vessel that carries the message. The two can really fuse together, they can oppose, because noise can be hectic and annoying and screechy, haunting, frightening. Beauty can be calming, loving, ethereal, enchanting, inspiring, but the two can come together in these combinations that are worth theming a record over.
After personally experiencing both ends of the spectrum when it comes to his live sets (Wakarusa and EDCLV) fans can rest assured that they are in for a very unique performance when seeing Bassnectar this time around.
In his own words, Ashton described the upcoming tour as:
a 5-week voyage into the unknown, our first and only road show of 2014 – a chance to go as deep as f*ck and get immersive.
Sounds like surprises are definitely in store.
