Adam Young Steps Into Melodic Bass With Debut Album Another Life

Adam Young understands the feeling of being just another face in the crowd of thousands dancing to the beat. With Another Life, the producer from Miami is ready to share his own music with the fans. His first album was released on August 15 under the label Artificial Yntelligence, LLC, and it comprises 13 songs produced by Young himself and with the participation of singers Aleesia and Alaina Cross.

The majority of the tracks are melodic dubstep with a tinge of house, so the project is a mixture of Young’s passion for electronic music and his experience in writing songs about love and heartbreak. This is how he describes the idea for Another Life on his music page:

“I love the feeling of thousands of people all experiencing the same thing at the same time under the same sky.”

This same enthusiasm for rave music comes through in Young’s description of the process of making the album:

“Creating this album has been one of the most fun things I’ve ever done!”

Another Life Album

The album Another Life, which totals over 44 minutes, is available on Spotify and Apple Music. The first single from the album, Twisted Fate, came out on June 1, followed by Unreachable on June 9 and My Heart Bleeds Red on June 23. Then on July 16, the producer shared Avalanche, a pre-album single, and on August 15 Another Life was officially released to the public.

Melodic Dubstep and House

Melodic dubstep is the perfect format for Young’s storytelling. The songs feature his sincere and heartfelt lyrics about the longing for love, the pain of heartbreak, the feeling of gratitude and the willingness to start new relationships. In the best melodic dubstep tradition, Young addresses his listener directly and sincerely, as if having a conversation with an old friend. Aleesia sings on the track Twisted Fate and Alaina Cross is featured on When I Dream. Young produces all the songs on the album, from the opening track Another Life to the closing one, Back In Time. Two guest vocalists become the center of attention in a project that reflects Young’s focus on collaboration, creativity, and his desire to share his music with the world.

One Song Became Thirteen

Another Life did not start as an album – in fact, Young did not plan on creating a collection of songs at all. His girlfriend asked him to write and produce a song for her, and he agreed. While she was away traveling back home to move to Miami, he composed a poem as a gift for her. Most of it eventually made it into the song Twisted Fate. Finishing the track was such an enjoyable process for Young that he felt motivated to continue writing. He recalls:

“I loved making it so much I couldn’t stop writing. That’s when I knew I had to make an album!”

A year earlier, Young had suffered a heartbreaking breakup. He had recently found a girlfriend, and the two had planned to get married. But the relationship did not last, and the pain of the loss was sharp. These two experiences – the breakup and the engagement that never happened – became the central theme of the album. Young is confident and sincere in his lyrics about love and happiness, and he is just as open about his pain and sadness. “

I didn’t give up on love. I never will. It’s too important to me,” he writes.

Everything went into this album: the good times, the bad times, the heartbreak, the pain, the growth, and the overwhelming love she gives me. It is literally a piece of my life.

Out Now

For Young, finishing Another Life was no less meaningful than releasing it. The creator had always imagined making music for a living, but it took him a while to find the right direction. Now Young feels satisfied that he has completed this project in particular and is making music in general. Although he leaves the details of the songwriting process for his fans to discover, Young is openly enthusiastic about creating the album Another Life. When describing the experience of writing songs for the project, he uses the same emotionally charged language:

Just as his feelings for music and the people in his life fuel his creativity, Young finds it in him to be positive and supportive even about the difficulties he has gone through. His thoughts on the topic are simple and sincere:

And if it helps one person get through something, it was worth every second.
