Dance music is taking the mainstream plunge – into your living room.
For one full hour on Saturday, April 23, at 8pm PST, FOX will be airing the first-ever EDM Awards show, Electronic Music Awards & Foundation, co-founded by dance music dignitary Paul Oakenfold and Santa-Monica based TV4 Entertainment. The show promises to dedicate the hour to paying tribute to today’s biggest dance music artists and execs, including live performances, interviews, red-carpet coverage, and (of course) award presentations.
The genre-specific EDM Awards Show will be filmed in Los Angeles at the SLS Hotel a week earlier than the broadcast. An artist lineup has not been announced and little has been revealed about this monumental broadcast, but more information is expected to be unveiled on the official EMAF website.
“I’m thrilled to be a part of an awards show that finally both recognizes and celebrates, on a primetime platform, one of the biggest music genres in the world today.” -Oakenfold
The EDM Awards Show will be executive-produced by TV4 Entertainment’s Head of Productions Paul Duddridge, TV4 Entertainment CEO Jon Cody, and Oakenfold. It will be directed by Russell Thomas (MTV EMA Awards (2011-15), Katy Perry: Part of Me).
Stay tuned for more info.
