Electric Forest is one of the best Electronic Dance Music Festivals around today. The Rothbury, MI location for the festival provides aesthetic wonderment in the desolate location. Combining nature with a diverse, eclectic lineup creates an EDM festival experience that is truly unique.
Rumors Swirl Around Electric Forest
But lately rumors have been circulating that Electric Forest could face some roadblocks that may affect the continuation of the music festival. The uncertainty lies in a dispute between two of the largest production companies in the EDM space: SFX Entertainment and AEG / Madison House Productions.
After failing to acquire Insomniac Events and Madison House, SFX attempted to purchase the Double JJ Ranch with hopes of discontinuing the festival and creating their own electronic music production.
A hearing is scheduled for February 24.
However the 21,000+ fans that have already purchased their tickets for the June event need not worry. Electric Forest took to Facebook today to assure that the event will still happen, releasing the following statement:
In light of recent rumors, we want to confirm that Electric Forest 2014 is definitely still happening! We are working to resolve the current legal situation and are confident we will win the debate. We are excited to announce that the initial 2014 line up is coming soon, and we can’t wait to see YOU in the Forest!
The following reassurance was also released via Twitter:
Forest Fam, in light of recent rumors, we want to confirm that #EF2014 is def still a go! The initial lineup is coming soon! #StayTuned

Electric Forest is scheduled to take place June 26-29, 2014.
