The inaugural Further Future gathering is set to take place from May 1 through May 3 at the Moapa River Indian Reservation just outside Las Vegas, Nevada, and it’s shaping up to be unlike any event that you’ve ever heard of.
Rewriting the equation for the typical music festival environment, Further Future has laid the foundations for an incredibly unique experience.
With a huge emphasis on music (of course) the lineup includes big names like Little People, Nosaj Thing, Hundred Waters, and Tin Man in addition to a myriad of others.
But music not everything that’s going down in the Nevada desert this May.
In addition to the musical lineup the festival has assembled a world-renowned group of entrepreneurs, businessmen, scientists, researchers, artists, yoga instructors, sound healers, chefs, and more to the gathering.
Creating an all encompassing oasis of knowledge out in the heat and sand.
For what purpose? To speak, share, and converse about the future of business and the world, move past traditional thinking, and push the boundaries of human intelligence.
A few of the thought leaders from the extensive list are:
- Alex Ljung and Eric Wahlforss: founders of SoundCloud
- Tony Hsieh: Zappo’s CEO and NYTimes Bestselling Author
- Jimmy Wu: Project Manager, NASA Huston Johnson Space Center
- Astro Teller: Captain of Moonshots, Google[x]
And that doesn’t even begin to dent the list of movers, shakers, and innovators who will be in attendance this year.
Further Future also prominently features a central theme of health and wellness at the inaugural event. Ranging from international yoga instructors, sound healers, and meditation experts to workshops, poetry readings, onsite restaurants, and discussions – there is a major emphasis on keeping mind and body at peak condition.
Sound like everything and more that you were hoping for? We thought so, but there’s even more in store for this year’s event. The kicker? All of this action will be set to film.
Christian Lamb – Further Future’s Creative Director, film director, and member of the Venice, California-based creative studio HER3SY is set to direct a multi-camera shoot of the festival’s main events. With Lamb’s experience and track record, it’s sure to impress.
Having worked on projects ranging from Bob Dylan’s Musicares Person of the Year concert to leading concert footage teams for Incubus, Lenny Kravitz, Rihanna, and more one can be assured that Lamb is the perfect choice for the role.
So get ready, get excited, and check out this first year festival.
