We’ve followed the work of Finland’s bass creator 501 for quite some time. Having signed with the mighty UK dubstep label Never Say Die a few years back, 501 has gone on to drop some incredible, albeit sparse, productions.
Back in the spotlight, 501 dropped the infinitely heavy and mesmerizing Infinity EP to fans around the world.
As seems to be the Never Say Die way, 501’s Infinity EP spans four tracks with each song offering something epic for the listener.
The EP begins in almost apocalyptic style with the title track, a pulsing cut that becomes more intense as time goes on. Next comes “Hold Back” with its early syncopated edits and screeching drop patterns.
“Night Drive” offers the most menacing soundscapes while “Show You” rounds out the brilliant affair with snatches of vocals and strong use of strings.
